Ginkaku Temple

Ginkaku Temple

I took this image in 2010 and have now been ask to paint it for a private buyer.

My approach this time was to draw corner to corner to grid out the area on both printed image A4 and wooden ply A2.

By using the grid your soon see any mistakes and be able to correct them if you wish.

If you look at the areas in red on the gridded out area being the future painting. Your notice the slope of the roof is different to the printed out A4 image.

Here a better improvement and I probably start painting in the block colours now.

Now adding the colour to build up the image still using the grid as a reference point if you need to.

Using the computer screen is a good way for looking at details. As you can simply zoom in to a point to see shades of colour.
